Gym Session :: 11/14/2010

today was another productive session at the gym.. today Karen and I did legs, biceps and Abs.. as usual.. we were running late lol.. because of the fight last night we all slept real late..

but glad i still made it to the gym instead of passing on it lol..

i think my goal for this week is like i mentioned in the previous post to lose 1-2lbs.. but also stick to portion control because i know i kind of slipped last week.. so this week gotta keep my head in the game and eyes on the prize! lol ;)

hope you all enjoyed your weekend because i sure did hanging with my family as always!

Legs:
Bulgarian Lunges - 12lbs dumb bell each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
Dumb bell Squats - 40lb dumbbell (held between legs) - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
Standing Calf Raises - did these inbetween sets - 3 sets of 18 repetitions

Biceps:
Barbell Curls - 20lb barbell - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
Hammer Curls - 15lbs dumbbell each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Abs:
3 sets of 30 crunches

alrighty that was my workout for today..

Gym Session :: 11/13/2010

So i think all of last week i wasn't able to post about my gym sessions, but i do remember going LOL.. it's been sort of crazy here because both my girls were sick (still are a bit, but recovering thankfully).. so i haven't been able to blog as much as i'd like.. but it's a-okay! :)

anywho, today despite us waking up later than i hoped lol.. Karen, Derick and I headed over to the gym.. since it was later than i wanted it to be, didn't get to work out legs which i'm saving for tomorrow.. but we ended up doing Chest & Back..

and i'm proud to say i've lost 3 more pounds the past two weeks just by better food choices and also most importantly portion control!!

so I'm happy to say my total weight loss is now at 24lbs!! (was at 21lb loss) .. and my short term goal for this upcoming week is to lose another 1-2lbs (which is safest! anymore than that is not!) but my ultimate goal by summer 2011 (giving myself LOTS of time) that i lose another 20lbs and be at 100lbs... which is supposed to be my weight for my height (5'0) ..

I know a lot of people will be (or have told me) 'OMG that's too much!" .. but to me it's not.. i know my limits - i'm NOT going to be a toothpick because like i mentioned in all my fitness posts that's not my goal :)

but i know with the right support i can get there!! but i pretty much did the same workout for chest back as the previous week.. so i don't want to bore you all with my workout specifics!

I am going to throw in some cardio tomorrow since i'll be going a little bit earlier than today! and of course it's best to do cardio AFTER you do your weights.. alright folks have a happy saturday!

p.s. im working on doing before and mid weightloss pictures (i can't say after since i'm not done yet) but i'm a bit embarrassed as it's really embarrassing the pictures i have of my heavier days lol.. but getting the courage to do it!!

I want to inspire ALL of you who are looking to lose weight either if you're a mom or not that it's possible to do it the natural and healthy way! :) no need to crash diet or all that crazy stuff! :) it's hard work - but it truly pays off!

September/October Favorites

Holy Moly! It's been ages since i've last done a post like this! Since I missed September's favorites - i just want to add it all together. doubt i'll be able to do a video any time soon! lol (i'll try though!)

but my list is pretty small, since i've been using the same products mostly for September and October..

MUFE Duo Mat Powder - this is my go-to powder for the days i don't feel like putting on liquid foundation.. using Enkoremakeup's back to basics powder foundation tutorial - helped tons applying this! this did not oxidize on me and felt lightweight and stayed on the whole day with minimal touch-ups! I had originally purchased this a few months ago because of Pam (xxpinkxx) and have been in love with this ever since! thanks hun!
yes i've hit pan (barely but still lol)

MAC Blushbaby Blush - i used this blush color every single day practically for both months and still kind of use it for november lol! it gave such a warm glow to my skin and just looked amazing on the cheeks, especially when i paired it with MAC Eversun Blush.. the combination of those two were heaven on my cheeks!

Urban Decay Naked Palette - these two months i was really into the neutral looks, especially because i'm always in a hurry in the morning, so like my august favorites, i had to include this in my september and october favorites because i always reached for it!

Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black - this was my go-to gel eyeliner.. for days i wanted to take more time on the eyeliner/wanted it more dramatic.. (since i had neutral eyeshadow etc).. i used this and it did it's job! lasted ALL day and some! extremely creamy and just easy to work with.. i liked this better than my wet n wild gel liner too!

Sigma F80 Flat top Kabuki Brush - i found myself reaching for this every single time in the morning for september and october.. if i used it with powder or liquid or cream foundations, i'd find myself reaching for this. this brush is amazing! it's extremely soft but just enough density to pack on the foundation (whether it be powder or liquid) and gave me the airbrushed finish that i wanted. it was real easy to clean too! my absolute favorite.

Philosophy - Falling In Love perfume - when i had gotten a sample of this from a tiny sephora haul awhile back.. i fell in absolute love with this scent! it smells fruity, yet delicious, yet feminine but it's not irritating to the nose! my husband actually loves this scent on me, and i use this everyday or alternate with my DKNY perfume, but always reach for this one! love, love, LOVE this perfume! it'll be my go-to scent for some time!

that's pretty much it! if i do decide to show you all a video, i'll just add it in! :)

hope you enjoyed! what were some of your favorites?!

Review :: Knife and Fork Lift :: Turn eating into exercise!

I was given an opportunity to review the products from http://www.knifeandforklift.com/

and let me tell you, when i got the products, i honestly laughed out loud a bit.. because they just look hilarious! but after using them.. well i had to stop while eating because they got really heavy and really did make eating into an exercise! lol..

the website describes the product:
"THE PRODUCT
Knife and Fork Lift™ is a combination of utensils and dumbbells that serve as a constant reminder that eating puts weight on and requires exercise to take it off. Lifting food with these utensils is like doing curls with dumbbells. Weight: 1.5 lbs each. Height: 9""

Okay, so i know you're all probably thinking.. um khristine - they are only 1.5lbs each.. well yes they are.. but having to use them (and i eat slow haha) lactic acid starts building up and they tend to start feeling really heavy about midway though my meal - cutting steak/chicken started to really become a mini-workout LOL..

i showed this to my brother and his girlfriend, who were actually quite amused with the product! i think it'd be a great gift for someone who's states they are wanting to start going on a diet, or eating healthy, or start exercising! LOL this is a perfect gift!

the set for the fork and knife is $39.95 + shipping, and i just checked on their website - they have just added a spoonlift!

and they sell that separately for $14.95 all in USD. you might want to check their website to see their official rates and shipping faq's.

Packaging 4/5
it came in a fitted box wrapped in bubble wrap. nothing really fancy - but they were quite heavy together..

Quality 3/5
these are quite sturdy for what they are, but the little bottom part kept coming off, it wasn't hard to fix, but it was rather annoying.. otherwise - sturdy and does the job.

Usage 4/5
pretty self explanatory - use like any regular eating utensil - just a bit heavier after awhile! but totally worth the workout! haha

Overall 4/5

this is a great gift idea for a friend or family member that you think might enjoy this - as a motivating/start off point to diet/get into exercising lol.. or heck even a gag gift for a friend/family member (because that's what my brother and his gf thought this might be a really good gift for)..

i don't use this all the time though to be honest, but when i do, i try to really use it for the whole meal.. if i'm being real lazy - i'll switch to regular utensils.. but often times i lose my appetite haha - so i guess it does work in supressing your appetite and prevent you from over eating!

if you do decide to get this - let me know what you think! I'm always curious to see if my reviews help/not help in purchasing something!

FTC: I was sent these products by a PR firm for review purposes. I was not paid to do this review, nor does it alter my view on the product. As always, my reviews are with my HONEST thoughts and opinions.

Review :: Jockey Apparel :: possible stocking stuffers!

Jockey has something for everyone on your holiday gift list:

What to get the women in your life ...

If you are looking for something luxurious, timeless and functional, No Panty Line Promise Luxe has it all. This new collection (launching in Fall '10) features an invisible leg treatment virtually disappears under clothing, a Nylon blend fabric that is light and fine gauged, and of course, the promise of quality, fit and comfort that comes with every Jockey product. This year, give her something that not only makes her feel special, but something that she really needs!

And, one of the best things about Jockey gifts? They are easily accessible by readers nationwide at Jockey.com.

I was given the chance to review some products from Jockey. I know it's probably weird for some of you that i'm reviewing undergarments LOL .. but hey! some people aren't sure about a product till they've heard or read about it! and i'm hoping to help with that in any way i can!

so with that being said (um btw no pictures of me in undies haha!) here are the products that i was sent and got to give my honest review.

First up is the tank top that i got to try out. it was silky smooth on the skin, and was real breathable! i sweat kind of easily with the work that i do.. so i liked wearing a tank top under my nursing scrubs that were lightweight and breathable. also what i liked most about this, was it was double lined and was snug on my body, kind of like having some support which i really liked as well.. it was easy to use, comfortable and non irritating on the skin. it didn't bunch up like my other cotton tank-tops and this actually had some support which was also a plus..

the picture of the tank top was obviously before i wore it.. but here is my review on this particular product:

Packaging 4/5
It was sent to me just as the picture (well in a bubble mailer of course) but this is how you'd get the product if you were to purchase in stores.. so nothing fancy here - but as simple as it gets!

Quality 5/5
the quality on this product was amazing. it didn't feel cheap at all, lasted through many washes and the fabric is light yet sturdy.. but felt great on the skin! like i wasn't wearing anything, yet had that fitted support - not our average tank top! must have necessity in my book!

Usage 5/5
pretty self explanatory - you just put it on like any other tank top :) didn't scrunch up on me which i liked!

Overall 5/5
I know the holidays are just around the corner, i think this is a great stocking stuffer to get, or if you don't want to get your mom/sister/aunt the same gift of pajamas this year, try giving her a couple of these! the quality is amazing, the fit is superb and it's just extremely comfortable to wear and most of all - it'll be put to good use! many colors to choose from, but i decided to get black as it goes with all my stuff lol (well most of my scrubs)..

or if you don't want to get this as a gift to your mom/sister etc, this is a great gift for yourself - a mini splurge to say the least.. i absolutely love the feel of this tank top!

Alrighty! on to the next topic of discussion, the undies! LOL.. i just want to clarify these were all pictures taken prior to use!! so please don't leave any rude/mean comments - they won't be tolerated..

i know a lot of nursing students who have white scrubs (that are like almost see through ugh! lol) .. and always looking for a good pair of undies to wear! let me tell you! these are the bomb.com lol.. they pictures seems bigger than they are in real life.. but im always afraid to wear these if i'm wearing pants especially scrubs since you usually see panty lines when wearing normal cotton panties.. but not with these! i also was afraid to test these out and get a major wedgie LOL.. but i must say - these were awesome - softest pair of undies that i own now haha! i didn't get to pick the color that was sent to me, but it's underwear and the only one looking at 'em is myself lol..

anywho here's what it looks like..

Packaging 4/5
It was sent to me just as the picture (well in a bubble mailer of course) but this is how you'd get the product if you were to purchase in stores..so like the tank top - nothing fancy.

Quality 5/5
the quality on this product was amazing. like i said - super comfortable, didn't give me and wedgies and kept it's promise of no panty line!

Usage 5/5
pretty self explanatory ;p

Overall 5/5
great product if your looking into these types of panties. i know a lot of people who aren't into the so-called "granny panties" .. but on days that you're not feeling like having floss up your booty, this is perfect for those days you wanna relax! lol.. cause i have plenty of those kinda days! i know it'd be a weird stocking stuffer for your mom for this particular item.. so this would be perfect for yourself if you decide you need to invest in some great quality underwear!

hope you enjoyed the review and if you decide to get anything from the jockey website, let me know - interested if you get these particular items and do like them as much as i enjoy them!

Beautylish LA Day of Beauty Event

Hello everyone! For those of you who follow me on twitter know that i am a member of Beautylish.com (an online community/resource for women into beauty/make-up)

and they actually had a big event here in LA yesterday that I was so thankful i got to attend!

I'm actually really shy, and i totally regret not talking to more people. But i did get to take pictures with my favorite youtube gurus and met some amazing people. the ladies that i met were all so very friendly and i just wish i wasn't so shy LOL..

the event was sponsored by NYX Cosmetics, Stila cosmetics, Orly FX, Yes to Carrots, Napoleon Perdis and i think a few more. it was held at the JW Marriot in downtown LA.

the set up was so beautifully done! it was gorgeous inside! and everyone that attended was beautiful! they had a raffle, amazing free goodies, free beautylish t-shirt, free drinks/cocktails, food/snacks and goodie bags! i do not regret going at all - it definitely was an awesome experience and i only hope to attend more in the future if they have them in LA again.

I went with Karen and she and I had an amazing time! it was so neat that when i went up to the check-in desk.. they already knew who i was! and the cool thing was that a handful of people were like 'hey - are you myfitbeauty?" which was soo amazing!

anywho, the event was from 2:00PM-5:00PM and i had such a great time! i didn't get to take too many pictures, but i did take a few.. ;) enjoy!

Okay, so Karen and I took these pictures on the way out (at the end), but when you first walk in, you are asked if you want your picture taken with the Beautylish backdrop.. with a professional photographer paparazzi style! lol can't wait to see 'em~!

Me! :) lol

LOL! haha!

but here is Karen gettin' her nails did!

Gym Session :: 10/24/2010

Gooood Morning Everyone! So today Karen, My brother Derick and Myself woke up an hour later than we were supposed to... we still met up at the gym to do Legs & Biceps. I had to get home because Hubby had to go to the gym to meet up a friend at 9 and barely just finished and got home just in time.

But here are the exercises that i did today for Legs & Biceps (I did the same exercises as last week except one, but i'll post them all anyway)

Legs:
- Bulgarian Lunges (video Here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKVz8AwBlNQ)
that was on my old channel, but did those 3 sets of 8 repetitions.. really really burns those thighs! LOL
- Squats (at the Squat rack) I used the olympic barbell which is i think 45lbs alone. I did a warm up set of just the barbell 8 repetitions. On my 2nd set, i added 10lbs on each side of the barbell and did 2 more sets of 8 repetitions. this exercise is amazing for your quads!
- Standing calf-raises - no weights - 3 sets of 8 repetitions (did these inbetween sets while i was doing the bulgarian lunges)

Biceps:
- Hammer Curls - 15lb dumbbell each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
- Alternating Dumbbell Curls - 12lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

that pretty much wrapped it up! people sometimes ask me why i lift weights aren't i scared i'll get "buff" i posted this in the beginning when i started this blog about this.

the only way i will ever get "buff" is if i eat more calories than i exercise - if you want to get big like a powerlifter - you have to eat like one! plus i am NOT a man, i do not take steroids/supplements to make me buff, and because i'm a woman - i do not even have enough testosterone to make me become naturally buff as easily as it is for men.

My personal goal is not to become a skinny toothpick - my personal opinion i do not think that is sexy and that's not what i'm aiming for. Like i have mentioned before, my goal is to lose weight/body fat and to become lean. i do also want to become a bit stronger. if you are looking to lose weight - lifting weights is an awesome way to go! don't be afraid of the weights! keep in mind, if you are trying to lose weight, it's also about healthier eating choices!

i honestly love Jennifer Nicole Lee's body and would LOVE to have my body look like that - i honestly think it'll take a lot of hard work, passion and persistence!

I think she has an amazing body and this is what my personal goal is for my body! what my goals are, may not necessarily fit yours - so find your goal and get to it!

stay healthy people!
