Gym Session :: 06/13/2011

So yesterday was My Husband's Birthday & also our youngest Daughter's Ballet Recital.. we had tons of fun watching our little one perform! i'll have to edit the video and post it on here - i'll make a separate entry for that :)

Didn't get to go to the gym yesterday due to all the preparations for the ballet recital (i had volunteered as well so had to be there a bit early).. We did go to Kyoto Buffet in Glendale afterwards to celebrate Hubby's Birthday & also to eat - because i was in such a rush - i didn't get a chance to eat (Shame on me, i know!) but today's a better day!

So we dropped off our little ones at school and headed over to the gym - it was really nice and empty!

I decided to do Back, Shoulders & Chest today and some abs (as usual).. here is what i did:

Back:
- Free Motion machine - Cable Rows - 35lbs - 3 sets of 15 repetitions (this was my warm-up exercise)
- Bent over Dumbbell Rows - 25 lbs each hand - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Cable Rows - 75lbs - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Shoulders:
- Upright Rows - 30lbs (unfortunately i could not find any other weight LOL) - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- side raises - 12.5lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
- Dumbbell Shoulder Press - 15lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Chest:
- Chest Press - 65lbs - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Dumbbell Flys - 10lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Abs:
- Crunches - 3 sets of 30 repetitions

had to cut it short because we had to pick up the kids from school.. i'm definitely going to be going tomorrow morning - before hanging out with some amazing ladies (will have to post about it! - i'm way to excited!)

i'm really hating my body right now - aunt flow is going to be here in a couple of days - i'm SO bloated i look ridiculous in all my clothes.. that's also my fault for eating everything that i've been craving (salty stuff haha).. anyway, i'm hoping to add in some cardio tomorrow.. not exactly sure what i'll work out.. but i know i'm going to do it - no excuses! :) alright everyone!

your fit challenge tomorrow is to STRETCH! :) stretching is super important after a workout! :) don't want to injure yourself!  till next time!

Gym Session :: 06/09/2011

Another great workout session after work.. I was rather skeptical about going after work (peak hours at the gym) and was worried that all the weights that I wanted to use would not be available - the machines I wanted to use would be taken, etc...

but thankfully - although it was rather busy in there and jam packed (not as bad as the other local gym i used to frequent).. i was able to get my work-out done completely.. at my own pace and bother-free lol.

Today I did upper body.. and here is my workout. I am a bit bloated lately, like i mentioned in previous posting (aunt flow haha TMI).. so i think i've gained a few pounds in water weight - but i'm not stressing too much.

Not sure if i've mentioned it on my blog - but i have on my twitter... I have joined a "30 day get fit" program.. well it's not really a program - just daily e-mails on my work email address with a challenge - really super easy if you ask me...

i've been doing well so far - and i'm hoping to keep up the motivation for the rest of this month.

anywho - on to the workout...

Back:
- Lat Pull Down (Machine) - 75lb each hand - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Low Row (cable machine) - 60lbs - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
- Low Back Extensions - no weights - 3 sets of 20 repetitions

Chest:
- Flat Bench Press (olympic Bar + weights) - 65lbs - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Incline Dumbbell Press - 15lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
- Dumbbell Flys - 10lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Abs:
5 sets of 30 crunches on the ab machine (lying down)
3 sets of 15 leg lifts

Calves:
Standing Calf raises - 3 sets of 20 (no weights)

that was tonights workout - loved it! what fitness plans do you have in store for tomorrow?

So Hubby and I went back to the gym - to do legs/biceps. We brought the kids with us because they wanted to play in the kids club that the gym we go to offers.. so it was a win-win for us! the girls had fun and hubby & i had fun..

so this was my workout.. i've been feeling rather bloated lately - i think aunt flow is making her way soon (TMI) lol, so i know i'm probably gaining some water weight, which i usually do 1-2 weeks before aunt flow comes..

- Squats (with olympic bar + weights) 115lbs - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Dumbbell Deadlifts 35lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Biceps:
- Alternating Seated Dumbbell Curl - 15lbs each hand - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Standing Hammer Curls - 15lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

And as usual, did abs - i think i did 4 sets of 45.. decided to increase it a bit..  but that was pretty much it - i think this day we went to the mall.. and i bought 2 tops and a romper (my first one ever) from forever21.. not sure if i should do a mini haul.. it'll probably be boring lol.. anyway hope you all had a great weekend!

Post Gym Talk (hygiene).. random blogging

Have you ever been done with your workout, only to have to rush doing errands or make a quick stop at the groceries and didn't get time to freshen up or do your post-gym primp as usual?

I actually was given the opportunity to try out the Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes and I definitely will say - highly recommended for the lady on the go.

It's great to put in your gym bag and use it to freshen up after a good workout, or even on your lunch break or anytime you need it. the great thing about it, is not only is it great for on the go, but great to use at home as well.

You can visit >HERE< to receive a coupon for a $1.00 of Flushable Moist Wipes.

The good thing about the wipes is that they are not scented - they didn't irritate my skin or anything like that. I do like that they are pre-moistened, but wish they could be just a tad bit more wet and flexible lol (they sometimes feel rather stiff) but the material is sturdy.

If you are a Mommy and have used Huggies wipes, that's exactly how they feel. I personally love the target brand of baby wipes - but these will do just fine.

I know some of you may be like omg - what a weird thing to blog about, but when you care about your hygiene and your like me - i'd like to share any thing i can with those who i know may use it and find it useful!

Definitely would recommend this for those of you gals (and guys) that need this!

FTC: I was NOT paid to write this article, I was however given a free sample. It was my decision to blog about this and this is my own opinion.
